Queen Elizabeth I speaks to the troops of England, encouraging them to fight to the death and with honor against the enemy, the Spanish Armada. She speaks to them in an attempt to uplift their spirits and fill their souls with confidence, notifying them that though she may not be with them physically, she is emotionally. "I myself will take up arms, I myself will be your general, judge, and rewarder of every one of your virtues in the field" (41). While giving this speech, Queen Elizabeth's tone revolves around lion heartedness, self assurance, and submissiveness. The speech was given in the year 1588.
When looking at the SOAPST in "Speech to the Troops at Tilbury," the reader is likely to understand a lot more and be more aware of the circumstances taking place during that moment. The SOAPST of the speech will help the audience realize the cause of the speech and for what reasons it was necessary. This includes the purpose of the speech, which was to encourage her men going in to a war, and the tone, which contained plenty of emotion and confidence. Without looking at the SOAPST, the audience is likely to not understand as much and perceive the importance of the speech. Therefore, it is vital to look at all the aspects of the SOAPST, and register a better comprehension of the speaking.
Queen Elizabeth's attempt to reach out to her subjects and motivate them in the end proves to be effective because of the sentiment she provides in her words and tone. She does a great job of adding plenty of feeling in to her speech, which is absolutely vital in a case such as this. She accomplishes her goal of placing belief, cheer, and resilience in to the spirits of her troops. Without these words of wisdom, perhaps these man would have gone in to battle pessimistic, fighting with no sense of urgency or poise.
Nothing's Ever Promised Tomorrow Today
Live one day at a time with no fears or regrets, tomorrow is never promised. A life lived in fear, isn't a life at all. Live and let live. Life is short, don't screw it up. Regardless of what happens, regardless of how jaded I may become, I know that my happiness is solely dependent on how I choose to look at things. You can make life fun, or you can make life miserable, the amount of work is exactly the same. Revel in it or wallow in it. "Get busy living or get busy dying."

ISIS
"A New Kind of Terrorist Threat"

Here is a summarization of what is going on in the middle east in case one were wondering: A newly formed terrorist organization known as "ISIS" are murdering innocent civilians by the thousands based on their religion. ISIS mainly targets christians and other religious minorities who are not muslim driving them out of their homes and brutally murdering them. Why? All because of the mere fact that ISIS consists of terrorists who practice a different religion. As ridiculous as it may sound, it unfortunately is the case. ISIS can be described as nothing more than low life scum who commit unnecessary atrocities and need to be put a stop to. Though this is the case, they may be difficult to stop as ISIS is somewhat different than any other terrorist organization America has ever seen. "They're something different in kind from the al Qaeda of old---more vicious, more organized and professional"(1). Besides mass murder, other ISIS unlawful acts include controlling about 35,000 square miles of land, robbing any banks they come across, selling oil and electricity, and making money off of kidnappings. "ISIS now controls a volume of resources and territory unmatched in the history of extremist organizations" (1). Here is an interesting fact about how brutal ISIS really is. Al Qaeda once threw them out for ferociousness and bloodlust. "Extreme violence lies in ISIS DNA" (1). These men have a natural act for war and draw young men from around the middle east who want to join something bigger than themselves join their group. ISIS has gone as far as to include social media sites in an effort to reach out to the rest of the world, posting videos of beheadings, promising havoc, etc. They have made several threats to the U.S. including a hash tag on one of their twitter sites, stating "#CalamityWillBefallUS." The president is aware of the atrocities taking place in the middle east, and recently sent bombers to Iraq. Many people are confident Obama will put an end to ISIS.
But, be warned of what these men are capable of. ISIS has claimed an attack on the U.S. is coming soon, and they have done pretty much everything they said they would do.
The world should be aware of the horrific acts, such as the ones in the middle east, being taken place. Therefore, it is vital the audience read this article. Especially if the audience is an American citizen, considering the fact we have been at war with Iraq for over 10 years. The world not only should be aware of this, but be aware specifically about ISIS. They are something new, something big, and something everyone should keep an eye on.

Dolce & Gabbana's "The One"
Before leaving the house, a majority of people tend to spray themselves with different fragrances.
Few do it as a part of their daily morning routine, while others do it occasionally. No matter what the case may be, almost everybody uses colognes and perfumes. Dolce & Gabbana, a highly favored fashion brand, is amongst the most popular in fragrances across the board. The photo shown above advertises one of Dolce & Gabbana's many fragrances, "The One." The photo uses ethos as a method of advertising, a method used by several other fashion brands too. They include Scarlett Johansson as a part of their advertisement, who is considered to be one of the most attractive actresses during this day and age. A bulk of people look up to celebrities and models, and try and do whatever they can in order to make themselves similar to these individuals. In other words, they are inspired. When customers are witnessed to images such as the one above, it gives them a reason to purchase that specific product. Few people may despise the portrayed model, or show no affection towards these individuals. The advertisement above proves to be effective because in the end, most people will end up purchasing the perfume after being exposed to such an image. After all, it is the reason fashion brands use celebrities and models as a method of advertising. Fashion is a tremendous part of these peoples' lives and they are judged upon based on their vogue decisions. Therefore, people trust their choices and are given a reason to purchase the product from a fashion stand point. Who else knows better when it comes to fashion than celebrities?

And Then There Were None
Agatha Christie is arguably the finest suspense writer in the history of suspense writers. Her fine works have the ability to get the audience reading and not being being able to put the book down until they find out what happens next. Not many writers have this ability, and of the few that do, do not come close to Agatha Christie. Agatha Christie's repertoire includes a broad array of suspense novels, and at the top of my list comes And Then There Were None. No other novel that I have perused in my entire sixteen years of existence has stood out to me more than And Then There Were None. From beginning to end, And Then There Were None consistently remained appealing and intense. A prime time example of a "can not put down until you find out what happens next" book. And Then There Were None takes place on a private, deserted island known as Indian Island where ten individuals who have all committed crimes have been invited to. The guests get killed off one by one in accordance to a nursery rhyme, only to come to the realization that the murderer is one of them. And Then There Were None is definitely a book I will always treasure and will always enthusiastically recommend to everyone i know.
